Refurbishment, refinishing and revamping of existing furniture
There’s an unmistakeable trend in building things that last longer. Not only that, but some customers also don’t want to throw out a perfectly good piece of furniture already occupying the perfect place in their home, but it is in need of an update or to be refinished.
Preserving special pieces doesn’t always mean furniture is valuable in the financial sense, but cabinets, tables, dressers and more have sometimes travelled through life with us and just need a revamp and a little TLC.
This hallway unit was a standard pine unit, taking the brunt of family life in a busy hallway for many years.
Still a solid unit, it seemed pointless throwing it away, so instead the customer handed it over to us for new doors to update the style, handles and drawer furniture, plus a spray paint to fit in with hallway redecoration and new oak top.
The photography of the finished project in the customer’s home was taken 7 years after the unit was refinished in Cambridge Cabinet’s workshop (in the image below) – showing just how durable and worthwhile the refinishing project has been.

The customer opted to retain their worktops, which were still in good condition, with a respray of all kitchen cabinetry in their chosen colour.
Take a look at our ‘Kitchens’ page for more information on kitchen revamps and resprays.
